How our Winnipeg referral service works
You tell us what's wrong with a window, door or piece of glass. We connect you with an independent local professional who does that kind of job. They quote it, and if you say yes, they do the work. We don't install anything, and sending a request costs you nothing. Then we follow up so your request doesn't go quiet.
What we are, and what we aren't
We're a referral service, not an installer. We read your request, work out what kind of job it is, and pass it to an independent local pro who does that work and covers your address. That pro measures, quotes, supplies the glass or part, and does the job. They're independent businesses, not our staff, so the quote, the contract and the warranty are between you and them.
Sending a request is free for homeowners, landlords and businesses.
What happens after you send a request
We pass on what you give us: your name, phone, email, address, the description and any photos. Photos of the whole window and a close-up of one corner often let a pro quote a sealed unit or a single pane before visiting. For a whole window or a door, expect a visit to measure before the final price.
The pro contacts you to ask about size, glass type, access and timing. Then we check back. Quotes that never arrive are a common complaint in this trade, so if nobody has been in touch, tell us and we'll pass the request to someone else.
Past the Perimeter, some pros add a travel charge. Ask, and make sure it's on the written quote.
Your choices and your information
You're under no obligation to hire anyone, and you can say no after seeing a quote. We share your details with the pro so your job can be quoted, not for anything else. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and why, and the terms of use cover the rest.
Questions to ask any installer
We don't rank companies. These questions work whoever quotes:
- Is the quote written and itemized, including removal, disposal and interior trim?
- Is it a new sealed unit or a whole window? Only a full ENERGY STAR triple-pane window or door can qualify for the Efficiency Manitoba rebate.
- What does the warranty cover, for how long, and who handles a claim?
- If you sign at home with a salesperson, are they licensed as a direct seller? Manitoba gives you a period to cancel. See the Consumer Protection Office.
